This sporting Uruguay perdiz hunt provides fun challenge for
even the veteran upland hunter. Hidden in and among the
short-grass savannah and low-lying shrub of western Uruguay, the
perdiz is a master of concealment and surprisingly speedy during
the flush. This hunt is experienced over well-experienced English
setters or Brittany spaniels. Guest can expect easy walking
and continuous points throughout the morning. This Uruguay
perdiz hunt provides guests respite from the high-volume dove hunts
or decoyed pigeon hunts with which it is paired, and will test
their upland wingshooting skills. Expect certain opportunity
for perdiz limits, beautiful rolling hills, exceptional guides and
pointers, and a respectable game bird.
Located on a secluded hilltop, Estancia San Cirilo overlooks
Uruguay's Rio Negro delta, and the thousands of acres of sunflower,
sorghum, and soybeans that define beautiful western Uruguay.
Completely and stylishly refurbished for the 2009 season by your
experienced, energetic hosts, the Portella brothers, this
architectural masterpiece is situated amid nearly 100,000 acres of
wing-shooting paradise. It offers luxury accommodations
convenient to daily shooting locations.
These luxury accommodations are complemented by the peaceful
flow of the nearby Rio Negro, the picturesque view of endless
rolling plains and, right in our own back yard, one of the largest
wild pigeon roosts Uruguay. While relaxing on the lower veranda,
guests will enjoy a warm fire, an array of table fare, fine wine,
and an open bar. Enjoy watching the marvelous flight of
pigeons returning to their evening roost.
All 3 meals are taken at the beautiful estancia and include
chef-prepared, traditional Uruguayan cuisine, excellent regional
wines and open bar. Amenities at San Cirilo include 4
double-bedrooms with private bathrooms and king sized beds, and 2
single bedrooms with king sized beds and a common bathroom,
comfortably big living-room with fire place, dining room with fire
place, a large gun room and equipment room. All rooms
overlook the Rio Negro delta and wild pigeon roost. In-house
maid service, internet access, laundry service are
included.

perdiz in Uruguay, but also their choice of high-volume dove hunts,
duck hunts or decoying pigeon hunts without ever venturing more

Itinerary
Sample Itinerary for 4-day Uruguay Dove Hunt at
San Cirilo
Day 1. Depart the U.S. on an overnight flight to
Montevideo
Day 2. Arrive Montevideo and transfer 3 hours to the
luxury lodge. Lunch at the lodge will be waiting, and
afternoon Uruguay dove hunting will soon follow.
Day 3-5. Mornings of Uruguay perdiz hunting, or optional
Uruguay duck hunting. Afternoons consist of high-volume
Uruguay dove hunting. Afternoon perdiz hunts, duck hunts or
pigeon hunts may be arranged.
Day 6. After another beautiful Uruguay perdiz hunt and
lunch, transfer will be provided to Montevideo for your overnight
flight to the U.S.
Day 7. Arrive in the U.S. at your gateway airport and make
connections home, usually arriving about mid-day.
Your Uruguay perdiz hunt itinerary may be fully
customized to include duck hunts, dove hunts, pigeon hunts and
dorado fishing. We will help make neccesary arrangements for tours,
dining or shopping in Montevideo or Buenos Aires.

Getting There - Uruguay Perdiz Hunt at San
Cirilo
San Cirilo is located in the northwest region of Uruguay
near the river town of PaysandĂș. The lodge is located
approximately 208 miles away from Montevideo, the capital and the
major metropolitan center of this small country.
Guests of San Cirilo have multiple means of arrival/departure
from the lodge based on their point of origin or final destination.
Most commonly, shooters traveling on international flights to
Uruguay and Montevideo International Airport will be met by a San
Cirilo representative who will assist with gun clearance, if
necessary, and who will transport the group to the lodge. The drive
is approximately 3 hours through scenic rural Uruguay via paved
highway. Alternatively, ground transfer from Buenos Aires or
private air charters may be arranged.
Uruguay Perdiz Hunt Limits at San
Cirilo
Uruguay dove hunting is unlimited in all regards. The bag limit,
or transportation limit for this Uruguay duck hunting experience is
quite generous, but we hope that you will let your conscience be
your guide as well, and compare this shooting opportunity to
virtually any other decoying experiences worldwide. Our outfitter
imposes a generous limit of 100 cartridges per morning for ducks to
balance action and conservation, as well as to ensure the
consistently productive shooting for which this Uruguay duck
hunting package is renowned. The daily limit during
a Uruguay perdiz hunt is 10 birds per
hunter. Pigeon hunts and dove hunts are unlimited
in all regards.

Gratuities - Uruguay Perdiz Hunt at San
Cirilo
Gratuities for lodge and field staff are not included in Uruguay
perdiz hunting package cost since tipping, in general, is
discretionary. Because clients have repeatedly asked that we
provide general guidelines the following is suggested:
- $35 per bird boy, per guest/day
- $30 to $40 for the household staff, per guest/day
- $50 to $100 for your shooting guide, per person for the total
stay.
As an example, for a 3-day hunt you will spend approximately
$300 in tips, which is $100 per day. Guests should tip
pick-up boys directly in the field. For transfers to Montevideo or
Buenos Aires, your lodge host will tip the drivers and airport
porters but not hotel or restaurant personnel. If you wish to tip
your guide, do so at your discretion.
