Uruguay pediz hunt with Plumas Y Aletas in the
beautiful farming and ranching region located about 45
minutes north of the historic town of Colonia, located on the
Rio de la Plata. A 2.5-hour drive from Montevideo
following your arrival flight takes you through beautiful rolling
hills and several small towns. You'll be shooting plenty of
doves, or stretching you legs during a leisurely perdiz hunt,
shortly after your arrival.
Morning or afternoon perdiz hunts may be arranged, and Raphael
Varela's European-bred pointers and setters make short order of
their hunting tasks. The typical mixed bag program is doves
during the mornings and perdiz during the afternoons.
Doves are hunted during the morning while heading to feed, and
during the afternoons while returning to roosting areas.
Pigeons are common and decoys may be provided for luring them in,
or they may be shot while passing during your dove hunt.
Expect to shoot between 500 and 2,000 rounds per day while dove
hunting in Uruguay at El Estribo.
Gear and clothing is not a complicated matter for Uruguay dove
hunting; dark field clothing appropriate for temperatures between
30 and 60 degrees are all that's required. Bring your favorite
wingshooting piece, the custom's fee is included in your
Uruguay dove hunt package.
Hunting guests are exclusively lodged in the rustically
authentic, third-generation working estancia El Estribo, which
literally translates to "the stirrup". Traditional
cuisine has a deliciously strong Italian influence including
chef prepared meals and desserts, regional wines, artisanal
cheeses made from the estancia's dairy herd. The personal
attention of Raphael makes your stay especially enjoyable.
Uruguay duck hunts are optionally available with a transfer to
allow duck hunting in the morning and perdiz hunting or decoying
pigeon hunting during the afternoons. Your Uruguay perdiz
hunt package may be customized to include each.
